July 31-August 6, 2025 Week 5 Mexico City MTC

Hola, what's up?? Hope you guys are doing great. This week really flew by for me.

Shout-out:
Big shoutout to my sister. She sent me a package from Costco (funded by my mom and dad), with 12 of the orginal Costco muffins. And i love those OG chocolate costco muffins.

Harry Potter:
There is an Hermana in our district that is a big Harry Potter fan, so on Thursday the 31st she made us all celebrate Harry Potters Birthday. ðŸ˜‚ The night before she sorted us into the 4 houses (im a griffindor according to her) and made the elders wear that color of tie. We had a 10 minute devo/conversation at breakfast about Harry Potter spirtual thoughts. ðŸ˜‚

End of the CCM:
I have been in the CCM for 4 weeks now and 1 week online, so 5 weeks total. Next Tuesday, I leave for Chile. The next email you get from me will be from CHILE! I will miss the CCM, but I am very excited to get to chile.

Church:
We had the best and worst testimony meeting Sunday. The worst because our branch is 60 missionaries who barely speak spanish, but the best because like 20-30 missionaries bore simple testimonies focused on Jesus Christ, and we all felt the Spirit reguardless of our limited speaking abilities.
My companions and I taught the lesson during second hour. We taught about Christ's attributes. It was good to study and prepare for it.

Random:
Elder Kearen gave an awesome devo on Sunday
I love costco chocolate muffins
The sand volleyball/ spikeball continues to be lots of fun
I'm learning a lot of spanish, but i'm sure I will still be very confused in Chile (at the start)

Spirtual thought: (there are wayyyy too many things I have learned this week to write, but here is one of my favorites)
This goes along with the lesson we taught in Church. 3 Nephi 27:27, "Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am." (Jesus is the I) It's one thing to say you believe in Christ, but it's another to try to become like Him. We came to this Earth to become more like Him. They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and I think that trying to become like Christ is the greatest form of discipleship.

Lots of pictures of Garret with various members of his district

Cool new sock tie from Guatemala
