May 19-May 25, 2026 Week 47- Quillón Ward, Quillón

Hola como estan? Todo fino?

What happened in hoop terms:

Had a fun p-day with the district. we played some 2013 charlotte bobcats type of basketball and spikeball. (it was very bad but still fun)

Had consejo de distrito and I was like jordan poole when the baddies are watching (one of the APs was there and the consejo was fire because of it)

Our friend mariana did a lebron in 2016 and pulled a 1-3 comeback and will be baptized the 31st.

My comp is like current klay thompson.

My distrito is like the 2018 cavs. And our companionship is like Lebron ( we had 6 asistencias as a distrito which is good and we had 5 as companishiop )

Food this week was like Kd warriors. (Fire)

Had an intercambio with Elder Russell. elder Russell and i be like Kevin Durant and stephen curry (greatest duo of all time). we helped some people move, we had some fire lessons and it was a awesome intercambio.

Had some arapes with some Venezuelans, even tho they blocked us and our invitations like Dikembe Mutombo be blocking everyone

I feel like shai rn, the game just be flowing fr. Don't matter what be happening, the game be flowing (it doesn't matter if other people have a bad attitude, i'm going to be happy and work hard.)

Had an interview with presidente

I'm reading the Doctrina de Convenios and the book of mormon during personal study. here is sometime I liked from them.

May 12-May 18, 2026 Week 46- Quillón Ward, Quillón

Whats up. How are y'all doing?

Another good week here in Quillon, Chile. I am still in a small town. i've been in a small town for the past 5 months

What happened:

Had an intercambio with Elder Murset from AZ. it was fun. we had a good time and had a service project.

Had conferencia multizona. we learned about focusing on the people who want to progress and that are willing to help themselves.

Had some service projects cutting and moving wood (those are separate projects, one was cutting, the other moving)

We had like 5 lessons with this family from the dominican republic, they came to a church activity, and were preparing to be baptized, but they texted us saturday night that they were not coming and for us not to come back. Happens to the best of us. But they had a restaurant and I ate some fire dominican food.

This week I listened to a talk called "A summer with Great Aunt Rose" by Elder Uchtdorf. Fire talk. He talked about how if we have faith, we have hope. And when we have faith and hope, we have joy. I know as humans it's hard to be happy and have joy, but when we strengthen our faith we are strengthening our joy.

Ether 12:4

Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

May 6-May 11, 2026 Week 45- Quillón Ward, Quillón

What's up fam, how's it going?

Hope yall had a good Mother's Day, and happy birthday to my favorite mother.

Things are good down here. All y'all who have emailed me saying "enjoy the weather while it's warm" nah it's just freezing down here now

What happened:

*went to argentina*

-ate like 4 burgers in the hotel on the way back in santiago

-we ate frenchute in concepcion

-i bought a messy jersey and a argentina magnet

-I got to know I bunch of baller missionaries really well

-one of my friends in the mission, Elder Winter, we got to the mish together and were in the same zone for 4 months wanted to talk to one of the Argentinians about Jesús, and gracias a Dios we put him on date to be baptized! I went 1/1 and therefore will NEVER do a street contact again in Argentina. Shoutout to our friend Marcelo.

-had consejo de zona, it was the same thing that I saw in consejo de lideres, just number pushing and key indicator farming jargon but I learned some good stuff how helping our friends keep their commitments

-had a service project cutting wood

- had some fire lessons and we made some progress in the sector (when I got here it was dead)

-I had lost like 10 pounds on the mish now I'm on the weight gain and workout grind #chocolate milk #bread #this one's for you mom

Note from Emily: Garret had to fly to Argentina for visa reasons (they have to leave the country for their visas Don't really understand why). He flew from Concepcion to Santiago and then to Buenos Aires Argentina. They got to go out in Buenos Aires for a few hours. They went to Tres de Febrero Park where Melvin J Ballard dedicated Argentina for missionary work on December 25, 1925. This is where he did the street contact. Then they flew back to Santiago and had to stay overnight there. That is where he ate the 4 hamburgers. He was so excited to stay in Santiago at this hotel because he had stayed there when he originally flew to Chile to start his mission and the food was super good. Boys and their food??

April 29-May 5, 2026 Week 44- Quillón Ward, Quillón

Whats up? How we be doing?

Hope y'all are well and all that. hope y'all be enjoying the warm weather up in the north hemisphere-it's cold down here

I'm on a plane going to Argentina. Shout big T (mi hermano favorito)

What happened:

We had district counsel. We talked about what we could do to have more of las segundas lecciónes (the second lessons) happen.

Had an intercambio with Elder Ramriez from Hondruas, he's cool. it was a good exchange. We had a lesson with one of their friends who doesn't understand like anything , but elder ramirez tried to take his cigarettes but our friend Leonardo started begging him to not. Let's just say they aren't teaching him anymore.

Had an intercambio with Elder Ribieri from Brasil ate pizza and tried (keyword tried) to find some people. put a bautismal date with a guy who pulled up to church Constanza is getting baptized next Sunday.

Had an intercambio with Elder Reynold because we are going to Argentina for our visas. we stayed in the house of the APs, but they had AP things to do, so me and Elder Reynolds went out there and put in the work in their sector. We put a bautismal date too Dios es grande. Elder Reynold is awesome! If I had to describe him in one word I would pick ánimo. this man is pure hype. The APs bought us pizza. Que lindos!

Had Consejo de lideres, it was like expanded so all the DLs came. so that was lit I got to go. We had a guest, Hermano Littlefield. he has been the mentor of good ol President Kirt and hermana Emily for 1 year or so. But I learned some good stuff. But, we as leaders need to help every missionary be a little bit better and do a little bit more.

SPIRITUAL BEAST I AM:

I've been studying charity. And something I am learning and I like is: you never know what someone is going through, so you have to love them. I have been thinking about how Jesus literally condescended below all things to know how we feel and what it is like to do that. Some of the people I am with are struggling, and it would be easy to just like judge them, but I'm putting myself it his shoes and trying to look at the world from his perspective. (Side bar: my mother *the goat* always taught me these things, and I wish the whole world at least tried to adopt this mindset.)
